Sanitation & Recycling

The City of Dearborn contracts with Redgate Disposal for residential solid waste collection. Everyone within the city limits is required to have garbage collection.  Commercial businesses will need to find a provider to contract with.

Trash costs $14.88 per month, billed out along with water and is picked up every Friday unless a holiday observed* by Redgate Disposal occurs during the week then pickup is on Saturday.  Trash bags need to be placed on a paved road by 7am and you may have up to eight 30 gallon bags or the equivalent is allowed.  One bulky item per week can be picked up as long as prior arrangements have been made with Redgate Disposal.   No hazardous wastes such as: used motor oil, paint, bug or weed killers, drain cleaners, etc.  In addition yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, branches, carpeting and construction waste are not accepted.

To make arrangements for picking up a bulky item, for a missed trash pick-up or questions specific to trash pick-up, please call Redgate Disposal at 816-277-8572.
